Literacy Curriculum Flagship School

We are delighted to announce that we have become a Literacy Curriculum, Flagship School!

The Literary Curriculum has been developed by The Literacy Tree, a Primary English consultancy started in January 2012, that works with schools to place high quality children’s literature at the core of teaching and learning. Co-creators Anthony Legon and Lynn Sear developed the concept and the 'Teach Through a Text' approach through extensive and intensive work with schools and a background of studying English Literature and Drama, combined with Local Authority experience, school leadership and underpinning this, a shared love of literature and a geekiness for grammar and words.

All their consultants are children’s literature enthusiasts and experts in planning using text. They have all contributed to writing planning sequences, Literary Leaves and Spelling Seeds.
